Class of 2017 - Update, September 15

1. Please double and triple check ALL of the requirement that each of your schools have for the pre-screen. FOR EXAMPLE: Do they want a full-body shot? Do you slate all of your songs and monologues at once? What do you wear? Do they want separate files?? Stuff like that. Please, PLEASE, PLEASE check that stuff! It will make for a more efficient process on Monday and Tuesday.
2. Seniors who are auditioning for THEATRE (ACTING) and MUSICAL THEATRE programs will film on Monday, September 19 and Tuesday, September 20 (if needed), during your PA classes. EVERYONE should be dressed and equipped to be filmed on Monday, September 19. I am confident that we will be able to accommodate everyone.
3. For those of you who have chosen to perform during SECOND PERIOD, CHAMBER on Friday, Dr. Woolf STRONGLY suggests that ladies wear the shoes that you'll film in for your pre-screen.

That is all for now...more later...

Class of 2017 - UPDATE, September 14

We will be splitting the prescreen video sessions into THREE phases. Those of you who are auditioning in DRAMA or MUSICAL THEATRE, will film your college admission segments on Monday,  September 19 and Tuesday, September 20. Those of you who are auditioning in Vocal Performance and Classical Voice will film your college admission segments IMMEDIATELY AFTER the Fall Break (the first week or so, of October). Finally, those of you who are auditioning in Commercial Music will film your college admission segments and record your portfolio material DURING THE THIRD WEEK of October. (We'll be using the Piano Lab, for part of that, as well.)

I hope this information helps you and your planning.

Blog news for the week of September 12

IT IS CONCERT WEEK!!! Are YOU ready???

What's a 'supertonic'??? I thought the word was "supersonic"!??
We'll continue examining MAJOR triads, their functions and what the 'supertonic' really is.

Class of 2017
We'll try to finalize/polish/present your songs for your pre-screen portfolios, throughout the week. Remember PRE-SCREEN FILMING is scheduled for next Monday, 9/19 and Tuesday, 9/20. You will be assigned a day and time when you will film. PLEASE review all of your requirements, the 'looks' each school wants, etc. AND make sure you have already secured your pianists (especially Vocal Performance/Classical auditions.)

Students in Mr. Adams' 1st, 2nd and 4th period DRAMA CLASSES (Musical Theatre Supplement)
We'll continue to perform the "FIRST PASS" of your song cuts. Fun!!

Blog News for the week September 6

Don't worry if you didn't do as well as you had hoped with the Common Assessment you took on Friday. We will be using that as a guide to help shape our direction in theory, this year. This week, we'll continue our study of triads and how they "function" in Major keys. Sounds fancy, eh? It is magical, for realz...

Students in Mr. Adams' Intro to DRAMA Classes - Periods 1, 2, and 4 (Musical Theatre Supplement):

We'll finish up creating a 'rehearsal' study track for your use. And for those who are ready, we'll complete the "first pass" in Mr. Adams' class. It will be super-easy - you will present your song cut without any frills. It is just a 'pass through' with your presentation.
